We have created and guide and template for you to build out your own GOTV plan with some. These two resources in this tool together give you the guidance and the space to create a GOTV Plan that makes sense for your campaign or organization.
The guide and template also includes a few sections with suggested language and fill-in-the-blanks, which are highlighted in cyan (blue).
Every campaign is different, and depending on your context, you probably won’t need every section – you can delete the ones you won’t use.
Remember that planning is an iterative and often non-linear process. It’s more important to get started and get your thoughts into a document that can then be organized and refined than to write the perfect thing in each section.
Your plan will probably never be exactly perfect, and that’s ok! This is a tool for collaboration and decision-making, not a work of literature.
Just get started. You probably shouldn’t start at the strategic overview section (it’s a summary of the whole plan), but if you want to go for it. There aren’t any rules about where to start planning for GOTV, so start wherever feels easiest, and just make sure you align each part of the plan to the other parts as you go.
