No. Arena offers free resources to anyone running for office, but we do not endorse specific candidates.
Arena provides best-in-class training to current and aspiring campaign staff, with a focus on training women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Your campaign can enroll staffers in Arena Academy, an immersive five-day learning experience. Arena Academy trains along seven tracks: Campaign Management, Communications, Data, Digital, Finance, Organizing, and Organizing Director. The experience culminates with our campaign simulation, the Arena Cup. You can also enroll staffers at Arena Academy 201, a two-and-a-half day training program designed to support people who have had at least one cycle of campaign experience level up their people and program management skills and navigate the transition to management roles on campaigns.
Arena has trained more than 7,000 people since 2019, and it is part of our mission to connect campaigns with the staff they need to win. The Arena Staff Fellowship places Arena-trained staff on critical state legislative races in states where a Democratic majority is within reach or needs to be defended. These Fellows fill critical staffing gaps, often doubling staff capacity on races that will determine the balance of power at the state level. Arena fully funds Fellows’ salaries and health care and provides training and mentorship throughout their employment. The 2022 Arena Staff Fellowship secured Democratic majorities in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Since Arena’s founding in 2016, we have helped candidates up and down the ballot and across the country win their elections. From U.S. Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, to State Senator Mallory McMorrow, to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Arena has been there for talented, diverse candidates seeking the resources they need to win. Arena played an integral role in flipping the Virginia House of Delegates in 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives and New York State Senate in 2018, and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Michigan State Senate in 2022. At select times throughout the year, Arena offers Run Academy, a five-day training program for declared down ballot candidates that takes place alongside Arena Academy. Geared towards candidates who are “doing it all” themselves or likely to hire very few paid staff, Run Academy fills a critical gap in the candidate training ecosystem. Candidates learn the nuts and bolts of running for office and develop the skills and mindsets they need to carry themselves to victory on election day. The agenda also includes networking with individuals on the campaign staff tracks at Arena Academy, panels with past candidates, unconscious bias training, management training, and bespoke skills–based content.
