Campaign Budget – Comparison

Our budget template is an essential tool for any campaign. Used in tandem with your campaign plan, the budget will help you allocate resources from now until Election Day. This tool can also be helpful in establishing fundraising benchmarks based on the needs of the campaign.

We have created a new version that allows you to compare your budget to past or similar campaigns. It’s always hard to know how to allocate when you are starting from scratch. By using FEC or publicly available campaign finance data in your state or city this tool lets you see how other campaigns prioritize and spend money​.

The ease at which you are able to incorporate state or local campaign finance will differ state to state. Be sure to allocate time on your calendar to do the data clean work. We believe that having a comparison can be a helpful guide for how much things have cost in the past and identify strategic opportunities to spend differently than past campaigns.
