Switchboard can help share information back to Meta (Facebook) with your pixel to help optimize your digital advertising program.
What is a Meta pixel?
The Meta Pixel is a piece of code on your website that can help you better understand the effectiveness of your advertising and the actions people take on your site, like visiting a page or adding an item to their cart. You’ll also be able to see when customers took an action after seeing your ad on Facebook and Instagram, which can help you with retargeting.
Switchboard can provide a landing page on your custom shortlink domain that fires the Meta pixel before redirecting your supporter to a final destination. This satisfies Meta’s requirement of having a designated domain where conversions occur, allowing you to run conversion-optimized ads. To do this, you’ll need to share the tracking pixel your ad account uses with Switchboard, and then we’ll take care of the rest.
What is the Conversions API?
One way this Pixel can be used is by tracking conversations related to your fundraising program. Switchboard has a built-in solution using your ActBlue webhook data to communicate donation information back to Meta via their Conversions API. This is the most robust way to communicate data back to Meta, because it isn’t affected by browser or ad blocker settings and doesn’t require the donor to stay on the page post-donation. Once we connect your ActBlue data to Switchboard and you share your Meta pixel with us, we take care of the rest.
How to get started? This is free to set up. These solutions are completely free for anyone on the left, and you can use either in tandem. To add this to a new or existing Switchboard account, complete this request form.
