How to Use Arena Connections
Arena’s one stop shop for networking and mentorship
Overview
If you’ve signed up for Arena Connections, you should have received an email to access the database. Follow the instructions outlined here and in that email to make the most out of our networking and mentorship offerings. If you’re looking to sign up, get started here. If you have questions, email careers@arena.run.
First Steps
Here are some quick and easy steps for navigating the spreadsheet:
- Go to the Instructions tab (on the lower left hand corner) to view additional instructions about what information is in Arena Connections and navigate the spreadsheet
- Then go to the Arena Connections tab to view the full list of people in Arena Connections
- If you’d like to search or narrow folks down by certain parameters, use the drop-down menus, check boxes, and light turquoise search bars
- If you want to connect with someone you’ve found in Arena Connections, just click the cell that says “CLICK HERE to connect with anyone you’d like to talk to on this sheet”
Use Cases
Arena Connections is a platform designed to make it easier for you to meet people who work in politics. Here are a few ways that we envision that you might take advantage of Arena Connections:
- I want to find a mentor for current or future political work
- I work in politics and want to mentor staff
- I’m looking for a job and want to meet folks who work at an organization where I want to work
- I want to meet up with folks who work in politics in my city or state
- I’m looking to make a career change and want to meet someone who has done it in politics
- I just want to network beyond sending LinkedIn messages into the void and waiting for replies!
Important Note
Arena Connections is one more tool in your networking arsenal. It does not replace constant contact with your warm network. Use Arena Connections to supplement all the networking you already do! If you’d like to give us feedback on Arena Connections, you can do so here.
